It depends, first, on the brand of each. Possibly, your blue dye tests were more sensitive. That said, they are notorious for false positives :-(.

All the test were from the dollar store .. blue dye wa $4 (pee on kind) pink dye was $1 (dropper kind)

You might can find their stats as far as what their sensitivity is by looking at the brands listed here. It's very possible that your blue dye tests are just able to detect smaller amounts. Perhaps, wait a couple days and try again with the pink dye. Hcg should double every 48 hours.
