Question

Clomid 150mg cd 20 ovulation. RE office says its no good? Am I crazy to still hope?

Hi,this is my 4rth cycle on clomid. 1st 50mg no response, 2nd 100mg no response, 3rd 150 one follicle on left cd 13 16.5mm ovulated cd 18. This cycle cd 13 scan showed one follicle on right measuring 12.5mm. Nurse said at ultrasound that I probably wouldnt ovulate and sent us home with literature on fsh injections for next cycle. Well yesterday(cd19) and all day today (cd20)Ive had super strong positive tests. When I called the office to report the surge I was told that cd 20 was too late to ovulate and that the egg would not be good enough quality to get pregnant. I was told to keep my appointment for injectable counseling because im not responding on clomid? I have pcos and prior to clomid my cycles were around 45 days. Last month (150mg) it was 31 days. Anyone ever go through this? Im I just being too crazy hopeful that they are wrong? I feel like they just want me on the more expensive stuff. IDK some encouragement anyone?

Yay for your positive opk! How exciting! Don't ever lose hope. Honestly, if there's one thing I've learnt through my ttc journey is that hope is what keeps a person going. A strong, positive frame of mind is so important. Yes, I realize it can be emotionally, physically, and sometimes financially draining, and yes there are days when you can feel pretty down in the dumps about everything, but if you have no hope, then what do you have? In response to your question, I've haven't had to use injectables so I can't answer in that regard, but what I can answer is that yes, it absolutely is possible to still go on to ovulate and conceive this month. On my third cycle of clomid I ovulated on cd21 which I thought was late BUT I ended up getting pregnant that cycle and had a health pregnancy, delivery, and baby. I would keep an open mind about injectibles though. Maybe it's what you need. Don't waste time on something that isn't working. Keep moving forward; your bfp might be around the corner!

R u taking metformin along with the clomid? It sounds like ur body just has a hard time releasing those eggs! I would recommend doing a cycle with injectibles! That may be the key to getting you to ovulate a Heathier stronger egg that will get you pregnant....
