CLOMID USERS, I NEED SOME INSIGHT PLEASE!
Ok, I'm starting provera to get the af party started. My doctor told me to keep taking 1000mg of metformin. On cd 5 I start clomid. Since I'm only having trouble ovulating he said I do not need the trigger shot. I was so happy to start this new and hopefully successful process I forgot to ask him why he isn't going to see me for an ultrasound to see how many eggs (if more than one) will be released. I've read a lot of women have more than one released and have more issues than I do. Is this normal for him not to do an ultrasound? If ovulating is the only issue, will metformin and clomid produce more than one egg from releasing. Any help or insight I am greatly thankful for!!!

I agree, some doctor's just don't do it. If you're seeing a reproductive endocrinologist though they probably would. Go ahead and ask your doctor if you can have a monitored cycle (ultrasounds, blood work etc). I don't do monitored clomid cycles but that's because I live 1.5 hours away from the city and my doctor and I both agreed that it's ok that I don't as long as I don't have any problems. As for the clomid and metformin, yes there's always the chance (even without medication) that you could release more than one egg, especially if you're taking a higher dose of clomid paired with a trigger shot, but usually it's just one. My doctor said there's approximately a 10% chance of conceiving multiples.
