I would count the initial bleeding as the first day of the next cycle. Your body is programmed to start again from the time you bleed. I had a chemical pregnancy a few years ago, and the following month, I conceived again - the first day of bleeding is certainly the date they used to calculate the due date. I was charting at the time, and I ovulated around the time I had expected that following cycle. Best wishes.

I just had a chemical in February, and I'll fill you in on what I've learned. The month after my chemical, I had a "phantom pregnancy." My hCG went up, I was having pregnancy symptoms like crazy, and I even got a positive HPT. No one told me that this was a possibility, so I thought I was miscarrying again. My doctor said to count the first day of bleeding from the chemical as CD1. I was also advised to take 2 months off from TTC after the phantom pregnancy. I hope your body gets back to normal soon! I know just how disheartening a chemical pregnancy can be.
