Clomid: What cycle days do you take it?
I know this question must have appeared many times already but I'm not sure how to go back and look for others.
I'm about to start my 3rd cycle on Clomid. My doc has me on 50mg and doing CD 3-7. This last cycle, I got a BFP, only for it to end in a CP.
I heard that taking Clomid from CD 3-7 increases the number of eggs but taking it CD 5-9 increases only the quality of the eggs that you have without increasing the number.
So I'm wondering, on what days do you take Clomid and what was your impression so far? Do you know anything about this? Is it better to have more eggs or better quality ones? Any advice? (My doctor doesn't think it's necessary to monitor me by the way!)

For one cycle I took 50mg days 5-9 and then the next cycle 3-7.. I got BFN for both. I ovulated on day 14 using it 5-9 and day 12 using it days 3-7. (The first cycle after stopping I ovulated day 16) I feel 5-9 or even 4-8 would be best that way you get a quality egg and nice luteal phase. I read if implantation happens too soon it could end in early MC. Currently, I'm just using progesterone cream because i ovulate on my own. Good luck.

Thanks for the advice to both of you. For this month I decided to stick with the 3-7 one more time, since it did seem to work last month. I ovulate on my own, a little on the late side. With the 3-7, I ovulated day 16 on the first cycle and day 18 or 19 last month (which still seems kind of late, what do you think?). I'm curious to see when I will ovulate this month. As for my LP, it's long enough, ranging from 13-16 days.
Either way, if this month isn't working, I'll try 5-9 next month. If I still don't have results after that, I'm going to insist my OB-GYN do some more tests or monitoring.
P.S.: I did manage to convince the doc to (reluctantly) prescribe me progesterone (tablets, to be used vaginally) that he suggested I take if I get another BFP.
