When does ovulation spotting usually happen before or after actual ovulation?

I am having light spotting today, I also had it last cycle, both times it has followed a significant dip in temp the day before, then a rise the day of spotting, only ever lasts a day or 2 and is light brown/pink after using the bathroom.
So I am wondering now if the dip in bbt is my ovulation day and then the spotting the day after is ovulation spotting (therefore occurring after ovulation?) although both times I never got a positive OPK until a day or so after the spotting, so it doesn't line up? Do you think I am ovulating before or after the spotting?

I haven't had it before these last 2 cycles and the cycle before these two I was pregnant but unfortunately suffered a loss at 6 weeks so I guess something has changed?
