Question

Can the father of the baby sleep in same bed as you during hospital stay?

Or does the father of the baby have to sleep on the couch?

You will be very sore (keep in mind, you'll be so happy and excited that the pain will not be more than you can handle), but you will be sore. The beds are regular twin sized hospital beds - and if you have a vaginal delivery, you will be sleeping on pads, because you will be bleeding pretty heavily. I cannot imagine wanting to cram another person in no matter how much you love your husband. The "sofas" really fold down to futons in most hospitals and that is where the husbands sleep. Its not dreamy, but it works fine. You'll also be breastfeeding every two hours and there definitely will not be room for him when you're holding your baby trying to get him/her to latch.

It is so nice nowadays that they have sofas or something for the husband to sleep on. I wanted to add that you will have a pad under you also if you have a c-section. I had an emergency c-section with my last baby. They push on your belly every 30 minutes to help the blood expel from your uterus. You will have a big pad on that helps catch the bood also. Wishing you a good and safe delivery!
