Question

Fetomid/Clomid and egg quality advice.

Hi Ladies

My blood work showed that I was not ovulating, lining good and my hubby has excellent sperm count and movement but so so morphology but the Urologist said he is fine.

So I was put on Fertomid 50mg and currently on my fourth and final round and still no BFP. My CD21 Progesterone test confirms ovulation but still nothing.

My question is, seeing that Fertomid is making me ovulate does it also make the eggs nice, big and mature? Or can I still ovulate but with bad quality eggs?

My Gyni did not schedule any U/S as he did not think it was necessary and only seeing him next month again.

Any advice or info will be highly appreciated.

Call and tell them you want an ultrasound with this being your last month and chance on it. That's what I would do. If nothing else than for your peace of mind...

Thanks Millbarnett for the advice, unfortunately the Gyni's are all fully booked and the only available date is in August ;(

Clomid *should* increase quality (and quantity. depending on the days taken) of the egg(s), but it can also thin ur lining and dry up cm, which works against u. What was ur progesterone level?

I am taking the pills on CD4-CD8 and have the Progesterone test done on CD23 of a 26 day cycle. I never ovulated on my first round but second round was 50.9 nmol/L and the second round was 19.6 and will only go for another test later next month as I am only on CD9 today. I am 36 so don't want to waste anymore time if my egg quality is just not good enough.

Do you think with the above results it indicates good quality?

What day are u ovulating? My 4-8 was a CD17 O. I'm surprised they still have u on 50mg. Usually they increase the dosage if u dont O on it, or after a cpl cycles and no BFP. Ur second round P4 level is great! The third round does indicate O, but it's low, esp for being on a medicated cycle. My gyn wants 30+. A lower number will confirm O but can also make implantation hard/impossible.
I totally get the age thing, I'm 36 also and trying everything I can get my hands on to get one more baby. Have u looked into any natural boosters?

My temp rise indicates that I ovulate on CD14 but my OPK last cycle went from a +on CD17 to a -on CD18 so I think I ovulated on CD17. My Gyni has only put me on 4 cycles of Fertomid and said that if I am not pregnant after the 4th round (just finished my last pill of fourth round) then he is going to refer me to a fertility specialist. He is so fully booked that I can only see the month after my final cycle on Fertomid, so I will have a month on my own. I am worried that the Gyni is taking his sweet time and the clock is ticking for me and I really don't want to waste precious months. We are trying for our first and have not looked into any natural boosters as not sure what that is all about, but going to Google it.
Would you suggest I go straight to a Fertility Specialist or wait for my Gyni to have a final look and then refer me to one? Sorry for all the questions but I really don't know what to do and it feels like my ovulation/egg quality is not good enough. Thanks again

If u are able to go directly to a fertility specialist, then def do so, but most likely u'll need a referral for that so u kinda have to wait it out. If ur temp rose and sustained that rise, then that would confirm ur ovulation, so having a positive for multiple days really means nothing at that point (going by ur other post).

Thanks so much Dakotagurrl, yes I probably have to wait it out to see the Gyni again. Hope you get your BFP soon!
