Mid Cycle Spotting ~ What in the world?!?!

I usually O around cd 18ish. Sometimes a little earlier or later. I used opks through cd 20 and never got a positive result. So I figured this cycle was a bust. Then I noticed some spotting later that day and for the next 2 days. Nothing red, just brown and/or light pink and then nothing after cd22. I took an opk today (cd 27) just for fun and it was positive! Negative HPT. I've never O'd this late and now I'm just confused!! Has anyone else out there had mid cycle spotting like that or something similar?
