Question

when tell your new employer you are pregnant?

I recently started a new job, and am 7 weeks pregnant. when would be a good time to tell them?? i want to wait til im 12 weeks because i just had a miscarriage in feburary, and dont want to risk stirring the pot if i lose this baby too. It seems to be a very family oriented place, seeing as we can use the pool on certain days for our families and such. the boss said she was so impressed by me catching on so quickly. it happened so fast, i had one interview that lasted less thn 15 minutes and was hired the next day. i also dont want to seem llike a big jerk for not telling them. advice please ?!

I would wait at least until you hit the 2nd trimester, unless you are experiencing severe morning sickness and need to explain why you need time off. I was forced to tell my employer at 8 weeks due to a training that wasn't safe for me to participate in. You can always wait until you start showing too, that's what I would have done if I could. I really could have gotten away with not telling anyone until 24-25 weeks, that's when it became obvious that I was pregnant.

I agree with mnor0406. Wait until second trimester.

I had to tell my employer right away because I work in the hospital around things that can affect my pregnancy. I'm a 4 weeks and I've already told them. I know it's early but rather be safe.
