Question

Chemical pregnancy and hormones?

My situation is a little confusing. I have a 4 mth old Baby and haven't had a normal cycle since I've been breastfeeding. I've only had one period since I gave birth until last week. It started with terrible cramping for about 3 days and spotting. I thought it was implantation cramps since I had similar symptoms during my last pregnancy. I tested twice with a bfp and then started heavy bleeding the next day. I assumed it was a CP and accepted it. Now the bleeding has stopped and I tested again exactly 7 days after the initial bleeding and still got a bfp. The line was about the same as the first I took and not any lighter. Anyone know how long hormones will stay in your body or could it be that I'm still pregnant?

According to my Maternal Child Nursing Care book (nursing school book) hCG levels disappear quickly after you give birth. However, because removing hCG from your tissues takes time, the hormone can be detected for up to 3-4 weeks after you give birth.

Hope that helped some :-)
