Question

Clomid's effect on ovulation

This is my first cycle on Clomid so I don't really know if this is normal but I have been taking opks (Clearblue Advanced Digital) and I got the peak fertility reading on Tuesday morning accompanied by the expected intense cramping on the right side. What's weird is that last night/this morning I have tons if ewc and had horrible cramps on the left side. I took an opk this morning and it says high fertility again, like I got the two days leading up to ovulation. I know it's "impossible" to ovulate twice in one month with some many days in between, so does anyone have an explanation? Has this happened to anyone else? Thanks!

Opk's aren't reliable when on Clomid, you can easily get false positives. I also had plenty of ovulation-type cramping ahead of ovulation when on Clomid (I thought of it as eggs-under-construction). That's why the dr's monitoring is so helpful with Clomid, it's the only way to predict if/when you are actually going to ovulate (and aside from temping, the only way to confirm ovulation). GL, hope this is your cycle!

My doctor told me not to do opks within 3 days ov taking clomid because of the possibility of false positives.
