Question

Does your CD effect your hpt test result?

Curious.. I'm 10dpo, CD19. Seeing ALOT of women get results earlier than my dpo. Does CD have anything to do with results? AF not due til 5/11. +opk 4/20.

Hey......It's best to wait for 14 dpo to test so that you don't get a false negative.

Thanks mummyheff! I had positive opk 4/20. Felt so sick the whole week of the 20th. Been feeling off'ish ever since. It's calmed down since but still have my moments throughout the day and night.. Along with other symptoms. I guess I'm very far ahead on dpo bc I ovulated early! Cd9 was when I ovulated. Keep me posted with you! GL!

To answer your question, no cd has nothing to do with when you get a positive hpt - that's entirely down to when implantation occurs and how fast hcg rises. Also wanted to point out that if you're truly 10 dpo, your period is almost definitely due sooner than 5/11; that would give you a 19 day luteal phase, which is way outside the range of normal. I see that you're coming off bcp - you won't be able to rely on your cycle length while on bcp to tell you anything about your current natural cycle length, you'll have to wait and see how your body adjusts. And you may have to wait a few months for the adjustment, it's normal to not start ovulating right away after bcp. Especially coming off bcp, opk's may not be very reliable. It's entirely possible to have an lh surge but no o, and this can happen many times in a row. Start temp charting, that will show you when you've truly o'd and when it's a false surge. GL!

(Also, because I wish someone had told me - I've used those opk's and they suck. If you leave them for even a minute or two longer then the directions call for a negative can turn into a positive, I've watched it happen. It can also be really hard to tell a positive from a negative. I found the opk's from early-pregnancy-test.com to be much more reliable and user-friendly, and they're cheaper to boot, but ymmv.)

Thanks Yarnlady! I actually stopped taking bcps 4/8. I was only on them for going on 2 months. Had AF 3/30 during inactive week, started new pack, only took 5 of new pack then decided ttc. (4/8). I wasn't religious with the pills. 1 week usually was 10 days for me. Had withdrawal bleed 4/13-4/14. Got positive opk 4/20. Plenty of symptoms of ovulation/luteal phase after. So according to my lmp. I should've been due for original AF 4/27. And with withdrawal bleed I should be due 5/11. I've never had issues of irregularity wether on or off bc. But time will tell.

I'm sorta in the same boat. I ALWAYS have 28 day cycles ovulating on day 14......My LMP was April 7th and I used OPK this month with a flashing smiley face on 4.25 (CD 19) and we did the deed, and then a solid smiley face the following day. I've had a ton of symptoms since and my expected period should be due today, but that would only give me a 9 day LP. I guess only time will tell! :)
