Helping beta drop after miscarriage
I had a miscarriage at about 8 weeks pregnant, on April 1st I had a D&A, then went in to find out my numbers had barely dropped and my lining was still very thick, again I had another D&A on April 10th. My dr doesn't want to do a D&C because of scar tissue issues from other surgeries I've needed. My question is, it's been 1 month since my first D&A and my beta is still 213. How can I get it to drop down naturally, there is no more lining to shed or anything. My dr says I'm just holding on to old blood basically. Please help, having a miscarriage is bad enough but having it last months is even worse.

I'm so sorry to hear about your loss. I understand the frustration of having to wait for the hcg to fall (I had a miscarriage on Mother's Day, about 4 weeks after bfp). I asked my doctor the exact same question about natural ways to get your hcg to fall. The only thing he said was that the bleeding I was experiencing at the time helps, presumably because I was shedding the placenta tissue that was putting the hcg into my system. Now, I have read that some people say drinking lots of water and exercising helps you flush the hcg out of your system, but I haven't seen any evidence from medical experts to support that (not saying it's not out there, just haven't seen it.)
Anyways, sorry I don't have a better answer for you. Prayers that your body adjusts quickly and that you find peace during the horrible wait.
