Question

This question applies to any lady that's taken a pregnancy test.....

The test states that you should not look after advised time.... Soooo, why do we? I mean, if it's negative & then we see a "faint positive" after 20 minutes, isn't it just wishful thinking???
PS I'd like to be wrong on this.

Because we want it so bad that we can't help but look for the slightest glimmer of hope?

That's exactly it. We want to see something anything that isn't a straight up no. Something to keep us hoping that the next test we take is going to suddenly produce a bright positive result! In other words at times we like to torture ourselves lol! :)

my first positive I got was after the 5 minute window. I don't know how long after because I threw it away and didn't look until 3 hours later. the next morning I got nothing in 5 minutes, and then at 15 minutes had another faint line. I took 2 more intermittently later that day and ended up with a positive in 3 minutes that evening.
