Only one faint positive.. 8(?) Days late..

My last period was March 12th. Not sure when I ovulated. On the day I think my period was due (April 12th) I had a very small amount of brown discharge and the same thing the next day. I never actually had a full on period. I took a hpt on the 16th and it was negative but then got a very faintly positive on frer on the 20th. Took another one last night and it was negative. I'm confused. I have some pregnancy symptoms like fatigue, mood swings and sore breasts but shouldn't I be getting a positive by now if I am pregnant. Anyome else get a late positive die to late ovulation or something??
