Question

WHAT THE HECK DOES MY BLOOS TEST MEAN?!?

Blood test says Preg serum qualitative: positive: HCG level equal to or greater than 25 MIU/ML neg. No detectable HCG level. I went to the ER last night and they diagnosed me with a complex ovarian cyst on my right ovary and they want me yo follow up with an OB & said they were concerned because it was filled with something solid and they didn't know what it was. But the qualitative pregnancy serum came positive and then it says HCG level greater than or equal to 25 MIU/ML negative. Could I be just getting pregnant right now and its too early to show on a blood test? I'm really concerned. I'm 23 and I already have a 18 month old son and this is the first time I've ever had a cyst according to my Dr. I've also been experiencing cramping the last week or so and I've had really sore boobs. According to my app I should have just ovulated & my period is due may 2nd. HELP PLEASE. IDK what to think!

It sounds like your hcg levels are more than 5 but less than 25.

Oh, wait. I didn't read the part where you said "No detectable hcg level" - I'd call whoever did the blood test and ask them to explain.

I would say that they are giving you their reference range first for example, preg serum positive is a HCG level equal to or greater than 25, they then give your result which is a non detectable level therefore your result is negative.

It sounds to me like you may be very early in pregnancy. The cyst on your ovary could be the corpus luteum which every pregnant woman has. It's the follicle the egg came from and stays intact and can even grow quite large during the first twelve weeks of pregnancy. It's role is to support the developing placenta with hormones until the placenta is fully established. It the shrinks away as your pregnancy progresses. I hope this is what it is and I hope this helps. :)
