Period lasting 2 days

AF came on the 15th April and a high fever. It lasted only 2 days and till this day nothing except for 2 drops of brown spotting today. This never happened before. My period lasts for 7days. Can a fever cause changes in AF? On cd26, took hpt in the morning n it was negative. When I came bk from work in the evening I saw a faint line. I disregarded it because itwas after the time limit. I took the test again the next morning and it was negative. I dont know what iz happening.
