Breast tenderness is generally caused by estrogen and/or progesterone levels, but could be an early pregnancy symptom. Good luck!

How long should I wait to take a hpt ? Or can I take an ovulation test first ?

I would wait until at least 12 days past ovulation to test - and I'd use a pregnancy test.
