Question

Amh 0.6 what does this mean??

My husband has low sperm count problem so we had to go through IVF... Anyway the doctor found very few eggs so he asked me to do AMH to see what's the problem.. I got the result 0.6 .. He said we will finish the IVF procedures and then later we will deal with it... I Got pregnant and I have a baby.. After giving birth and having 12 complete cycles, I did the test again and I was shocked to find the same result 0.6 so what does this mean??? My doctor said Maybe I don't ovulate at all.. Is there any way to increase it or it's fixed? What do you think?? Should I try to get medical help or it doesn't matter anyway because we have to have IVF because my husband and I have problems??

The amh test is done to get an idea about your ovarian reserve. This reserve diminishes with age and can't be "fixed". It is something that cannot increase but will steadily decrease. There is a link between low egg quantity and lower egg quality. IVF does not improve anything related to your amh levels, you will likely get less mature eggs than someone with a higher amh level. All this doesn't mean you can't get pregnant but it might decrease your chances for success. Amh levels don't have anything to do with ovulation. Even if one does not ovulate regularly or not at all the egg count decreases on an ongoing basis and this process cannot be held up. Best wishes.
