What is up with cramping at this early stage?

I am at 5 dpo today and have had mild af type cramping since 2 dpo. I normally start getting cramps about a week before af is due so my question is, If I did get pregnant this month, what is the cause of the cramping this early. I have read that a lot of women will cramp once implantation takes place but not this early so I am really afraid all this cramping I am having is just af gearing up to show her ugly face. Thanks
