Extreme pain in pelvic region

So I am about 5-6 weeks pregnant, I have have had this horrible shotting pain under my belly button (pelvic region) Its extremely uncomfortable. It lasts for a few moments then goes away. It happened on Saturday and again today. It seems to happen in the later evening. I have not had bleeding or spotting. I don't see the doctor for another two weeks (till I'm 8 weeks) Does this happen to anyone else? Is it my uterus expanding? This didn't happen with my first.

It could be round ligament pain, though I don't remember getting it that early with either of my children.

Could just be things stretching and moving around down there. I had cramps around 5 or 6 weeks.
