Question

So discouraged already!

My husband and I have been ttc #1 for 3 months.....yes, only 3 months. I've had issues with anxiety and depression and have weaned off those medications in preparation of getting pregnant. I'm sure this contributes to me being so impatient. I was sure I was pregnant this time, had all the symptoms minus nausea. I just worry because I'm 36 and have had a few female issues in the past. How long did it take for you all to get pregnant? I'm just trying to get out of my own head! I would appreciate any advice you can offer. Thank you so much for listening to me whine... :)

Hi there!
I feel your pain! I've only been TTC for 2 months and I'm also already getting discouraged. I do have a daughter, she was planned, it took 4 cycles. Although, I was not heavily TTC at the time. That was 4 yrs ago, so my clock is ticking to give her a sibling! TTC can take a lot out of a woman/couple. The negatives are such a let down. But try and stay positive, as I'm sure you have read, stress can interrupt ovulation and implantation. (I should take my own advice! I'm horribly impatient aswell)
I hope you have a BFP in your near future! Feel free to msg me anytime if you need to vent and would like a TTC buddy!!

I know you don't want to here this but 3 months is nothing. But I can relate to the depression and medication issue. With my first born I stayed on my medication for the whole pregnancy and even after while I breast fed for a few months, I was 36, and my dr at the time was ok with that I know some medications are different than others. Now TTC #2 at 38, and I have a new dr, and hes not ok with any depression medication so I got off, been trying now for 8 months, had a very early miscarriage only to find out that I had fibroid which would not let me carry a baby, Had surgery and been trying again now for 6 months. Today is 13 DPO and I'm not doing a HPT until I'm past my normal period day. But the waiting is really getting me down and I believe someone of the reason I am having a hard time is due to being off my medication. Try not to tress to much.

Thanks ladies :) I definitely will Britt&baby! I appreciate it. I realize 3 months is nothing....I'm stressing because I already have it in my head that I'm doomed, so with each pregnancy test, it gets worse. I'm trying to occupy myself, because I know stress is only going to hurt my chances. Thanks for the advice everyone!

I am also on an anti-depressant under the care of a psychiatrist (been treated since age 19), and the new OB GYN I saw before TTC said she'd be ok with my staying on this. It's one which is deemed safer than others for pregnancy, and as I've learned, there are potential complications for women who are depressed during pregnancy, such as pre-term labor. I'm on cycle #3 and trying for my 1st child, and am starting to feel that frustration after the negative tests. Based on age (I'm 33) this may take me a year + if it happens at all, so I feel ya!

P.S. If you got off meds for depression, and are still feeling down/stressed/anxious, it may be worth it to look into seeing a mental health therapist or counselor if you don't already have one to make sure you are getting extra support.

Hey there, I'm right there with you!! I'm just starting my third cycle as of today..and I have also weaned off of my anti depressant which I am sure is not helping my anxiety or emotions. I have a son who I didn't TTC with but that was also 6 years ago. I'm becoming more impatient as the 30s approach, and am becoming discouraged as well, but the ladies on here keep me going. If you ever need to talk feel free to msg me as well.
As many have said three months isn't long, I'm going on month three now. So hang in there. Lots of positive happy thoughts for you.
