Question

Vitex

I have heard good things about taking Vitex but want more info. on it before I consider buying it. I have a luteal phase defect and have heard this can help regulate your cycle. I'm going to do one more round of clomid and if it doesn't work then next month I'm going to take a more natural approach and I'm thinking about taking Vitex. Any info. you can give me. When do you take it? How much do you take? Did it work for you? Anything would be appreciated!!

I started to take Vitex earlier this year and I just got back positive results today for my pregnancy beta test. I don't know if I would say that it was the Vitex, but I will say, it couldn't hurt if you are considering it. I read about use cases on WebMD (though not proven) that it aids with fertility and prevents miscarriage. The one thing I've read that's consistent across the various articles is that it helps regulate your menstruation cycles. I had two miscarriages last year and was "trying anything" that could help, but not harm my cause. I was taking 2 capsules (400mg each) every day at breakfast time. I was also taking baby aspirin daily. Now that I am pregnant, the doctor's office has advised that I stop taking the Vitex and baby aspirin. I'll probably keep taking the Vitex (one 3x/week) and wean myself off of it in case stopping cold turkey messes with my hormone levels. Try to find articles and of course, ask your doctor or a fertility specialist.

I just started taking Vitex the beginning of this month due to anovulatory cycles...it takes a bit for it to kick in..3 months I heard. Since I have had no significant changes or differences except. It feels like I ovulated this month but my bbt says otherwise..and I have more cm. I take 2 capsules 80mg every morning on an empty stomach with water as directed. Some ppl start with a higher dosage but I wanted to ease my body into it as my hormones are already unstable to begin with andi don't want to shock my body or throw it into limbo again. But I guess its all based on what you feel is a good amount. You know your body best :) I'm hoping by month 3 on vitex I can proudly say I got a bfp :) naturally ! Best of luck!
