I had to take out my eyebrow piercing for a job I was a nursery nurse. I would take them out as you can always put them back in at a later date especially if you think they are hindering you getting a job. Good luck with everything.
Just wanted to say though society sucks I have over 13 tattoo's and the looks I have gotten too but the way I see it it's my body my life it makes me happy. :)

I wouldnt take them out permanently, why would u change u who are so other people are happy to look at u? Thats just silly...F that! I'm 36 with two kids, I have my nose, lip, tongue, 15 in my ears (those arent always in cuz I'm too lazy to put 'em in and take 'em out at night), jugular notch and a few others below the neckline...I took 'em out for delivery and back in they went. I couldnt care less what other people think I should look like, and I invite any of them to try to tell me what I should do. If *anyone* says something to u, u hand them their very own shiny new asshole, and walk away!!

If you absolutely feel that you need to take this job, maybe just get retainers for them... even if you were to let them close up the scars are still visible. I had issues with my lip piercings and had to take them out and now I have three scars on my bottom lip. I know people cant see them most of the time but I'm really self conscious about it and wish I still had my lip rings...
I have a nose ring though and stretched ears and multiple visible tattoos and always have funky colored hair. In my life, I wouldn't want to work anywhere that I couldn't be myself. I did for a while because it was the only option, but now I'm living in an area with a lot more job opportunities... they aren't really well paying jobs, but as long as I can pay my bills and keep my child fed and clothed I'm happy =)
