Pregnancy after unilateral oophorectomy?

I had a miscarriage about a month ago and when having an ultrasound to check my uterus afterwards, they found a large cyst (15cm x 13cm) on one ovary. I am having surgery in a few weeks and was told it is likely they will have to take that ovary since they couldn't see healthy ovarian tissue on the ultrasound. Has anyone experienced a healthy pregnancy after losing an ovary? How long did it take you to conceive? Any side effects from losing one ovary?
