Implantation bleeding?

Hi everyone, so on 6 dpo for the first time since I've been ttc I had spotting. Pink, watery and so light I thought my eyes were playing tricks on me. It didn't last for any period of time, I then had cramps afterwards. I've been testing because I got so excited and hopeful that it was in fact IB. But the test have been negative. If it wasn't IB what else would cause spotting like that it's never happened Before, I would think an hpt could pick up something. Idk I need some advice I definitely got too excited.
