Question

Opk question for obgyn nurses/doctors only

I only need 100% correct answers, if Opk was positive for two days then negative the 3rd, can I still get pregnant hours after the negative opk? Or does negative mean ovukation occurred, don't even try :) thank you.

Opks are not 100% accurate, so ur not going to get 100% correct answers, no matter who answers. A positive opk just means there's an lh surge. It cannot tell u if/when u actually ovulated. U can usually assume u will o 12-48 hours after ur first positive opk, but that's not guaranteed.

An ovulation test (the LH test) is a prediction of ovulation. The test is only a positive LH hormone surge. This surge happens anywhere between 12 and 48 hours before your actual ovulation. The best rule of thumb when using OPKs is to bed the day you see it getting darker, no matter what bed the day they the two lines match and you have a true positive, and then about 3-4 days after. You can still get pregnant after the surge, since we can't tell exactly when you ovulate, it's always safe to keep trying. It's just another method to predict ovulation. Hope this helps. Good luck!
