Question

Pregnant??

So me and my partner have been trying to conceive now for nearly four years after a miscarriage in July 2011. I'm 22 and healthy I've been for blood tests in the past that came back fine, and recently had an ultrasound and vaginal ultrasound (I get the results Wednesday) to see if I have anything going on with my ovaries. My periods are irregular and I have extremely painful periods I have had some brown spotting in between periods in the past, hence the ultrasound. How ever my last period was on the 26th dec till the 30th and I had a day of spotting on the 7th of January. Since then my boobs have been quite sore and tender also swollen this doesn't usually happen, so I took a boots test two days ago but it was negative ? I still haven't come on and I certainly don't feel like I am about to either. My question is, is there a chance ? And would the ultrasound technician told me if I was pregnant ? Any comments will be appreciated!!

Wednesday, I did research online and some women said that the technicians were either not qualified in that field or as the scan wasn't pregnancy related they wouldn't say? And that it's down to the doctor to confirm it. I have just been sitting here thinking a million things as I always have my period even though they are pretty irregular!

The ultrasound tech is not allowed to discuss it with you. Especially since the scan was to check your ovaries. If they did check your uterus (which they probably did since I've had scans done for my ovarian cysts before and they always checked my uterus to make sure I didn't have something else going on) and if they found a pregnancy it will be documented and your doctor will discuss it with you.

The tech would not have been allowed to tell you that you were pregnant if your appointment was for something else. Heck, my ultrasound tech didn't even tell me about the giant cyst on my ovary a few years ago. I had to wait for the Doctor to tell me four days later. Ahaha!

If you have been trying for four years and have irregular periods and trouble conceiving, I think you are on the right track. Is your Doctor aware of all of the trouble you are having with your cycles and conceiving? If not, talk to them about it. They can help.

Thank you for your replies! I have now started my period (shock). To be honest my doctor looks at me in a funny way when I mention it I think because I am young? however me and my partner have been together 7 years both work and are more than capable of becoming parents. Every time I see her which I wait for weeks for an appointment and get about 6 minutes of her time! she just tells me the pill is the only way to sort out my periods however that doesn't help the fact we can't conceive ! My partner has looked at going to a private fertility clinic that do a one stop fertility assement on the two of us so I might look into that after I get my results.
