Question

How long will it take to get back to normal after chemical pregnancy?

I am 9 days late for my period. Had a positive hpt on Sunday (4 days late). Then everything went negative. I had an appointment with my gyn this morning to figure out what was going on. She confirmed that I had a chemical pregnancy. She told me I should get my period soon and if I didn't get it in two weeks to call her and she would prescribe something to make it start. I am ttc my first child. This would have been my first pregnancy. I have absolutely no experience with this and am totally heartbroken.
Does anyone have any experience with this? How long will it take to get my period and then get back to a normal cycle? How long does it take to get pregnant after a chemical pregnancy? Sorry for so many questions, I am clueless.

It varies from person to person and incidence to incidence. I've had a lot of chemicals and usually get my period about 2-3 days after my hcg levels hit zero. I think it takes my body that long for my progesterone levels to get back down.

So sorry for your loss and best wishes!

I just had a chemical pregnancy- it was my first pregnancy as well. I know exactly what you are going through. I was sad, hurt, angry, so much. It made me very upset that it took me about a week for my body (which had started to change to accommodate a pregnancy) to go back to normal after I started bleeding. After my hcg was at 0, I started to cramp very badly and then I had bleeding that was similar to a period, but much darker. I actually didn't have much clotting at all because it was an early pregnancy. After a week or so, my bbt went back to normal, and my breasts stopped hurting and my nipple color/size went back to normal. My doctor told me it was okay for me to TTC this month because it was so early, my hcg never got very high, and my lining should be fine. I am using OPKs and BBT to monitor my ovulation because my doctor said it could be very early or very late after the CP. I hope this is helpful, you can message me if you need to talk/vent!

I had three in 2013 and always got my period within a week and my cycles after each time stayed roughly the same length. My cycles varied anyway and I had long cycles to begin with (average 34 to 36 days)

Its advised to not TTC the month of the chemical pregnancy and to wait for the next cycle.

My sister got pregnant right after a chemical. My husband and I have been TTC 3 cycles since our chemical. My doctor said it was fine to TTc right away since my chemical was so early. My cycle was right back to normal right away.
