What exactly is dry cm?!

OK So it seems obvious by name, but what is dry cervical mucus? I have been checking CM and CP this cycle. I have times when I notice it feeling moist when I check, but nothing comes out to look at. (TMI here:) My finger will be shiny and damp, but not wet. I didn't know if technically this is watery cm because it is clear or dry cm because there is no patch of anything to look at. (Just a shiny finger.) OK that was awkward to type but I hope it makes sense!

I was wondering the same! I thought maybe it was the absence of cm...?
Still have no answer though!

I thought it was the absence of cm too - so I guess is the moisture I get when I check that remains on my finger cm - or is it supposed to be moist there and I actually have no cm at all?!

Thats a tricky one...I've had "dry" and for me, its unmistakeable. When u require lube to check ur cervix hahaha, ur dry!! ;D If its clear and moist, I'd stick with watery or leave it blank and try later. We all have a slightly diff way of marking things down, its not like they give many options lol! I think an am/pm part for cm would be awesome...I've had days where I have some ewcm in the am but none at night. When I look back at those charts, I dont remember which days were all ewcm and which were a plop here n there.
