Can taking estradiol cause early ovulation?
So, I have PCOS and don't ovulate. I took clomid cd4-8 and estradiol (estrogen) cd8-12. This is my 4th time on clomid(not consecutively) and I have never ovulated earlier than cd17. It is cd14 and I got a +OPK. Do you think the estradiol had something to do with it and will my egg be mature enough?

The estradiol is to thicken your lining, to counteract the effect of the clomid. I don't see how that could have an effect, but clomid can definitely give you different results every time you take it (even taking a dose you've taken before). If your body is surging on its own, that should mean that an egg is mature enough. Are you getting ultrasounds to monitor you, and are you temping and/or doing a 7 dpo blood draw to confirm o?

Temping can just be helpful to make sure that the lh surge you're seeing is a "true" surge, so you know for sure that everything worked correctly. Especially if it's not doable to have the other forms of monitoring it's a good way to get at least some feedback on how the clomid's working. But hopefully you'll be getting your bfp very soon and it'll be a moot point - good luck!
