7 weeks and 1 day, saw heartbeat
I know a lot of people say wait until 12 weeks to tell everyone but I saw where it said that once you have saw the heartbeat (we did yesterday) that the chances are only about 3% for miscarriage. Do you think I would be ok telling people or would you still wait to tell?
FYI I have have one son and no history of miscarriages. I do have a cyst on my left ovary, not sure if that makes a difference.

I think it's totally up to you and how you feel! For my first son once we had our 8 week scan and heard the heartbeat we told our immediate families (parents and siblings) and one or two really close friends. Around 12/13 weeks we made it more known to the others. It all depends on what you are most comfortable with! Congrats!!

That's wonderful news. I've had two miscarriages but didn't see a heartbeat on either pregnancy before I miscarried. I personally told my closest family and friends right away when I found I was preggas. It is a personal choice but I found it easier to cope with my losses knowing that those closest to me shared my disappointment and were aware my hubby and I were grieving. Of course there's always the risk of someone saying something dumb in an effort to make you feel better but I found that better than the thought of feeling sad and getting a 'so when are you to going to have kids' while recovering from a loss. Congratulations! A bfp is wonderful but I do understand it brings with it a whole new set of worries. You be fine, I wish you a happy and healthy pregnancy. :).
