When did you have your dr appt to confirm pregnancy?
Hi everyone,
I am 14 DPO and have been getting positives since 10DPO. Since AF is due today and no signs and still positive tests, I called doc to schedule an appointment. They dont want to see my for a blood draw until I am six-eight weeks. Im so nervous Im going to be a wreck until then worrying something is wrong. When did your dr. do your blood draw to confirm? I dont have a history of m/c at this point.

I am pregnant for the second time around and had the same doctor for my son and this one. Both times they had me come in when I got a positive HPT and just talk to a nurse about what I can eat/do and what I can't and what to expect. Then around 7-8 weeks I meet with the doctor for a scan to make sure everything is ok and all the lab work. It's so annoying waiting but I really love my doctor but I know other doctors have you come in right away for blood work so I don't know

I've had 4 children so far, same doctor. They have always scheduled me between 6-8 weeks (like 2-3 weeks after BFP) They typically do an internal ultrasound to confirm EDD , then schedule the nurses counsel
Try not to stress over it too much.. easier said than done though I know :)

With my daughter, they had me come in within a week of getting a positive HPT, and then just reconfirmed with an inhouse urine test and blood work. Then at 8 weeks for my first U/S, which was just a regular u/s, not internal.
I did end up switching doctors at 30 weeks, but only because I moved and the Dr I had been seeing the entire time only delivered at one hospital, and it was a 45 minute drive from where I moved to.

I had a history of miscarriage, and started spotting after several BFPs. We called my OB/GYN and they wouldn't see me for another three weeks, even with my increased risk for miscarriage- and it wasn't even with a doctor, just to go over my medical history before my first appointment, which was 2 weeks after that!
I absolutely needed some peace of mind, so I called my primary care doc. They got me in right away and tested my blood three days apart to confirm doubling. If you feel you need peace of mind before your first OB/GYN appointment, I would advise contacting your primary care physician and seeing if they're willing to test for you.
