Trying Again after Miscarriage
I had a miscarriage at almost 12 weeks. It was a pretty big surprise and rough since it happened days before my birthday and Christmas. Anyway, I had a D&C on the 20th and it seems that everything went well (I don't have my follow-up appt until next week but I've not had anything weird happen). I was wondering, how long did it take you to get pregnant after a miscarriage. I've had no problem getting pregnant in the past, with my son we got pregnant the first month we tried, and with this pregnancy it was the second month of trying. I am hoping to get pregnant right away, after the waiting period suggested by my doctor of course, and I'm just wondering if that's an unrealistic hope. I just don't want to be disappointed if it ends up taking months to get pregnant again. Thanks!

memberI had 6 miscarriages in the past and conceived again within 8 months or so. In one instance I became pregnant right away the cycle following a D&C. There was no period between the procedure and new conception. Many women conceive quickly again after a miscarriage. None of my drs recommended a specific wait time but do what your dr suggests. Just wanted to say I'm so sorry and I'm going through the same thing. Our baby died at 7 weeks on the 20th and I had a D and C on Christmas Eve. My doctor has said that we can start trying two weeks from when I had the op as long as the spotting has stopped. She said a lot of people fall pregnant within the first few months afterwards because your body is really fertile. I hope that's the case for both of us. Look after yourself.

i had a miscarriage as well the 14th tho i did not needed a d&c tho, and now 10 days later i think, think im ovulating again im having some slight cramping and im having watery clear slippery cm & my Dr said i was good to try again as soon as i felt ready.. to answer ur question i think u wont have problems getting pregnant again
