Question

When does your countdown to ovulation actually start with opks?

Now we all know that once you get a positive opk you generally ovulate between 24 and 48 hours after. But to get more technical, is it when your surge starts? Or when it peaks? Because I usually get a near positive the day before my positive. I get similarly faint lines until the days surrounding my positive. The day before I get a near positive. It's ALMOST a positive but the test line is just a hair lighter. The next day I get two equally dark lines then the day after I get another near positive then I get faints that look like all the others before.

Basically, I can't see my surge building or fading except for 3 days of my cycle.

I got a positive today at 2 this afternoon. I took one just now (8pm) after a 3 hour hold, same hold as my afternoon pos, and this one is actually darker than the control line. So technically I'm still peaking.

So, with I ovulate 24 ish ours from now? Or from yesterday when my surge started to build? Or from my equally dark line positive?

You go with your latest positive Hun, you may get another positive tomorrow some people have 2 days of peaking but you go 24-48 hours after the latest positive so the last one not the start of your surge x if your still surging you haven't surged enough to start pushing the egg out which takes 24-48 hours xxx good luck xx

First positive is the one u want. U will attempt to O 12-48hrs after, but it can be later, sooner or not at all. A positive OPK is not a guaranty of ovulation, only a sign ur body will attempt it. To be considered positive, the test line must be equal to or darker than the control line. The length of the surge has zero bearing on when or if the egg will release. This is a urine test and relies solely on kidney function, fluid intake and hold duration. Like I said in ur previous question, my longest + stretch was 8 days with O on the first day, had I counted from the 8th day, I wouldve missed O by over a week! First positive, always!!!
Good luck! =))
