Question

Cervix soft and high before ovulation?

I'm supposed to ovulate around day 18/19, but at CD 11 (today), my cervix is soft high and with chunky CM. I check regularly, so I know my cervix is not usually this soft. Anyone experience this and not be close to ovulating? I guess I could be ovulating sooner, but my cycle is 29 days long, and just stopped my AF on CD 5, so this seems really soon. I just starting charting too, so I can't tell yet what my pattern is.

Everyone's cervix is different, but soft and high is only part of the fertility equation. It also needs to be OPEN to allow sperm to get inside. So if you're checking in there and all you feel is a small dimple, it's closed and not ready for ovulation yet. If you feel like you can sorta put your fingertip in an indent in your cervix, that's open, and that's what you want. Keep checking and logging everything!
