Its been a week since my period ended and this morning, spotting.

Since we have been TTC baby #2, my periods have become very irregular. Some cycles are 34 days and some are 40 days. My period ended last Monday (12/8) and this morning I woke up and used the restroom and when I wiped, there was some red blood. Then I used the restroom again before I left for work and I wiped again and there was a lot more red blood and thick discharge. I haven't seen any blood since I got to work, but I am very confused. Any suggestions?? We have been trying for baby #2 since August LAST YEAR. It only took us 5 months to get pregnant with our first after being on BC for 10+ years. I was only on BC for 2 years when I went off. Its been an emotional roller coaster and this is now something new. Any advice or suggestions are greatly appreciated.
