Question

MMC at 10+6, now most likely a chemical pregnancy.

Hi All,

I had a MMC at 10+6 which resulted in an erpc and a total of 31 days of bleeding. I stopped bleeding for 9 days and had my "period". I tested positive on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday but I started getting pink cm Friday night which turned into full blown bleeding Saturday morning. I have taken an FRER which was negative but IC's are still showing a result. Has anyone had a similar experience and/or positive pregnancies after similar situations? My husband and I have agreed to try again straight away should this pregnancy not continue any further but I am really feeling the loss at present and hes not been a whole lot of help. I also received a fairly negative comment on a TTC forum where they said I basically imagined the positive result which I know is not the case but has made me feel really quite upset considering the situation. Look forward to hearing your stories and experiences.

Did you get a negative result in between when the miscarriage happened and this most recent test? I ask because you may be still getting a positive result from the pregnancy that ended in miscarriage. I also had a miscarriage at 11 weeks and bleed for one month and they told me to make sure to take a pregnancy test two weeks after the bleeding stopped to ensure the hcg levels had returned to zero before trying again. This is exactly the boat Im in now. I have just ovulated this week (or O is in progress now) and it's my first regular cycle since my miscarriage in Oct. Best of luck to you! And if this doesn't turn out to be a viable pregnancy don't lose hope. :)

I wouldn't say you imagined the positive IC result but I have gotten some very suspicious evaps on ICs before (while being negative on FRER) so is that a possibility? I've gotten lines on ICs even within the time frame but they turned out to be negatives. I had also had a CP a year before that where I'd gotten positives on FRER too. Hopefully it is just evaps. Sorry for your MC before :(

I'm very sorry for you miscarriage, it is tough. Those ICs could be more sensitive that the frers, do you know which tests are more sensitive? On the IC's the test line should be the same thickness as the control line, not a faint thin line. I know you feel sad but don't give up *hugs*

Thank you for your answers. I did have a negative after the miscarriage. I made sure I did as didn't want to TTC again until I had. Luckily even the IC's look negative today so must have just been picking the last of the HCG as they are more sensitive. I feel a bit better today. I think it all just got too much yesterday what with having the miscarriage and having hope that this was our sticky bean and it turning out not to be the case. My husband has already asked if we can try again. I am due to ovulate over christmas so who knows!
