Question

More fertile after pregnancy?

I've heard people say your more fertile just after you have given birth? How is this? Is it true?

Yes yes yes...every women is differen.but speaking from experience.it took me 18 months to get pregnant on my first so when she was 4 months old we went againg in case it took us a while to get preg.to my surprise I got pregnant first time round went for no 3 thinking it would nt happen as quick and i got preg on my 2 and cycle and on twins.we decided to go for baby no 5 and again got preg on my first cycle.I'm currently 10 weeks preg with baby no 5.so for me yes u are alot more fertile..

Statistically, a woman is no more fertile immediately after giving birth than she was before.

I don't believe this is true I gave birth October 1st and still nothing I don't think you are any more fertile than you were before.

Well from my experience. When I went for my 6 week check up my obgyn always stresses to me that u r highly fertile after birth.so I do believe it..but as I said every women is different

I agree with wantsababy80 and gquinn. I believe it is a myth. Obviously, there will be women that conceive quickly and easily after having given birth but this is not the norm. On top of it hormones are still unbalanced after childbirth and while breast feeding making pregnancy less likely for many. Best wishes and the Lord's blessings.

Im on cycle 3 of ttc after having my baby 4.5 months ago...Im still trying to get my hormones to straighten out so I can stop spotting in my LP. Still no BFP for me. Im a non-believer in that, everyone's diff tho!

I was told I'd be more fertile right after I had my mirena taken out. Nope. Still ttc 2 1/2 years later. I think doctors say that because it's too hard to predict when u will ovulate for the first time after childbirth, therefore they have to warn u that u could be fertile and not know it. Hope that makes sense. I don't think ur any more likely to get pregnant right away.

When ovulation has been supressed you are meant to be more fertile when ovulation comes back.
