Ovulation is not usually something that can be felt, since there can be ovary pains and twinges at any point in one's cycle for various reasons. Since you have irregular cycles I would recommend using OPKs to see when an LH surge is happening (which can mean ovulation is imminent) and do BBT charting to confirm that ovulation took place. It leads to much less confusion, in my experience! GL!

Alot of women feel ovulation pain but it can come upto 2 days before the egg is released. I have felt it an I know what it is because mine is always followed by either ewcm with brown dots an I've had jet black blood an also pinky brown cm, these have always followed a sharp stabbing pain in my right or left side, my ovulation spotting started in 2012 after a mc , really weird or maybe I had never paid attention before.

I feel ovulation every cycle, always have, and majority of the time its very painful. For me, it starts as mild cramping for a cpl days, then progresses to heavy cramping and a throbbing ovary on whichever side is bustin' out an egg. Then I get a very sharp pain that feels like someone shoved a skewer into my ovary, twisted and pulled it out...then its all stops. After it stops, about an hour later I bloat in my lower abdo so bad that sitting flat on my butt hurts from the pressure (sex is crazy painful), nips start to get sore and I can feel my temp rising. The next morning temps confirm that I O'd, and my eyelids start to burn. This happens every cycle. Quite a few women feel O, its not as uncommon as most think. Most just dont realize thats what they felt. Its definitely not all in ur head!
