Question

About ready to give up. . .

Hello everyone, I've been ttc for over a year now. I'm so tired of the disappointment. What I can't understand is I've had children before so I know it isn't a fertility issue but idk why I can't get pregnant??? Ugh, sorry just needed to vent :(

Often it takes time even if no fertility issues are apparent. If you are using opks and are charting your temperatures to make sure you are getting the timing right you are going the right direction. Additionally you might want to improve your diet to improve fertility. Marilyn Shannon's book "Fertility, Cycles, and Nutrition" is a great resource for that. Lastly, with advancing age it usually takes longer to conceive. TTC in your 30s compared to in your 20s for example is more challenging for many. If you have not had a HSG test done in many years you might want to consider it just to make sure your tubes are open and you are not wasting time unnecessarily. I wish you the very best for your upcoming cycles. Don't lose hope. Best wishes and the Lord's blessings.

I apparently fall into that "unexplained fertility" group as well, as I have had all necessary tests done, and have had all positive results. I have been ttc for 15 months, and I am in my early twenties. It is very unfair and a constant battle for me to keep myself together on a daily basis. I just have to keep reminding myself that this is happening for a reason, and it way beyond my control. Also, depending on how long ago you've had children, you may be having fertility issues. Could also be the guy too, even if he has had kids, he should get a SA just to make sure everything is right with him. Praying for you.

I agree with what others have said. Also, secondary infertility (infertility after you've already had at least one child) is more common than people think. Not saying that is what the issue is. If it has been over a year of active trying you might want to consider getting some blood tests done and possibly the HSG test like others suggested. As as Maymay suggested the guy should have a SA done if you are going to do a bunch of testing. Here is some information on secondary infertility: http://www.resolve.org/about-infertility/medical-conditions/secondary-infertility.html. Best of luck, and I hope that you get your BFP soon!
