Question

Feeling guilty

Has anyone ever felt guilty for taking fertility drugs? From a Christian point of view, the homily in church today felt like it was directed toward me in a sense... Talking about trying to rush things and not letting Gods will be, but trying to control your own life.
I took my very first cloned pill today, after ttc for 13 months, going on 14.
Anyone feel like this? I'm extremely torn and confused about this!

Nope! I see infertility as being like any other medical condition and we should feel fine with treating it. A comparison I would make is would you feel guilty for seeking cancer treatments? There is nothing wrong with getting help with a medical problem. I had 8 medicated cycles and 7 IUIs and finally being pregnant is well worth everything. GL to you! :)

I'm Catholic and assume you are as well since you used the word homily. I am very aware of what the Church says about fertility treatment, however, I will tell you what I told a close friend who is also Catholic. She underwent years of treatment and ultimately conceived via ivf. Even with fertility treatment, it is still in God's hands. If He doesn't want you to conceive, you will not, no matter what you do, spend, or try. We "play God" all the time. Whether it is insulin for diabetes, chemo for cancer, or antibiotics for a sore throat. While I understand your dilemma, do not feel guilty. Life is a beautiful thing and God will love your child (and you) regardless. Best wishes!

I agree with luvtowalkfast. Ultimately, it is in God's hands whether anyone conceives or not with or without fertility drugs. Taking these medications does not take a thing away from His ultimate power, supreme being, and omnipotence. On another note, I heard a sermon today that pointed towards contentment in our lives as we are saved through faith in Christ. I felt convicted as I have been struggling with contentment in the last 16+ months dealing with continuous BFNs. God will delight in the contentment we have despite our circumstances. He does not care about fertility drugs; he cares about our faith and trust. Best wishes and the Lord's blessings.

I never did any kind of fertility treatment, but at the start, I did feel guilty about trying to "rush", especially when people would tell me that it's all in God's time and that it would happen when it's "meant to".
I prayed and I prayed for God to send us a little miracle child, and I would change which fertility aids we were using to try to get pregnant in hopes that changing things up would help.
After I stopped ovulating out of nowhere for nine months and felt this tugging in my heart to look specifically into Progesterone Cream as a supplement to help get things going again, I realized that I wasn't rushing anything, and that God had heard me and was simply directing my path.
Some people think that God will just gift you the things that your heart desires, but what I feel is that sometimes what He gives you is the knowledge to attain those things yourself.
Like eag said, God will love you and your child no matter how your family comes about!

Girls the catholic church has a lot of catching up to do with the times.their veiws are extreamly old fashioned and very anti women.im cathloic my best friend is in the middle of becoming a priest and I'm from a very religious country.but let me tell u.if I for one second thought god didnt want me to have a little help in becoming a mum I would not hesitate for one second to practice a different faith..don't ever feel guilty for what u are going through in becoming a mum..good luck..

No, not for three seconds because even if you take fertility drugs the timing of pregnancy seems to be all in gods hands not ours......
