I did with baby #2 bc my water broke at 36 wks with my first. Other than being slightly painful & making you moody/emotional, I didn't have any side effects. I took my last shot at 35 wks & my water broke exactly 2 wks later. My daughter is a perfectly healthy almost 8 mos old now. I lost my plug with her at 26 wks & started contracting at 29. I'm convinced that the shots got me to near term.

I would add there are some risk to you, blood clots being the biggest. Some women report nausea, vomiting, headaches (I would occasionally have one after my shot), etc. Basically, PMS/pregnancy/birth control side effects. But like I mentioned, they were not an issue with me.

I had the shots with my 4th child. Doctor wanted me to start weekly injections around 20 weeks, but we did every other week instead, starting around 24 weeks, when I started feeling Braxton Hicks. I could always tell when my two weeks were coming to an end, as the contractions started returning. At 35 weeks, my doctor stoped injections and decided to just let me go whenever my baby was ready. At 37 weeks, no contractions, but my baby ran out of room to grow, so I was induced. She will be 4 years old in February, and is doing great! No complications at all. One time I had pain associated with the injection, but I think they hit a nerve that time, and the pain went away after about a week. No problems otherwise. It was a better option than having her more preterm, as I had a daughter at 34 weeks, and my son at 32 weeks. All my kids are healthy now. My third child was born at 39 weeks. If we succeed again, I will definately opt for Progesterone injections again.
