TTC #1 with endometriosis
So last year I had my appendix out and they found endometrial tissue inside my appendix. I have always suspected that I have endometriosis and had been on birth control pills since I was 14 due to horrifically painful and heavy periods. My dp and I are trying to conceive our first. I am 21, he is 22. We have been trying for 7 months now with no luck. We went for a pre conception check up and the doc said to try for 6 months then to get a referral for a fs. Well now she is saying that she won't give us a referral until we've been trying a year. I also have Tourette's and OCD and have been weaned off my meds to a very low dose so that when we do fall pregnant we can get off them fast as they are not safe for pregnancy. I'm really struggling with emotions and the crippling pain every month when my period comes. Tmi but I'm pretty much stuck in the bathroom or shower the whole period because it just floods so badly. What should I do I can't take much more of this

I do not have endometriosis, however, one of my best friends does and I have watched her struggle for many years. She started TTC as soon as she got married. After 9 mos of no success, she was referred for testing where she was diagnosed with stage 4 endometriosis. Once you get to stage 3-4, the odds of a natural conception becomes difficult, so I would recommend you get an accurate diagnosis on how severe your case is. She did try Clomid and iui, but eventually had ivf to conceive. Gl to you on your journey!

Hi, I have endo so I know how you feel. Endo isn't necessarily a death sentence (although very painful). It really all depends on where your endo is, is it even affecting your reproductive system, how are your CA-125 levels, did they remove the chocolate cysts or did they leave them there etc etc... before you spend thousands of dollars to a RE (reproductive endocrinologist) there a few things that can be checked out. At your age, waiting a year before getting a referral is absolutely normal.
During a lap, the endo that was affecting my reproduction system was removed, however; it damaged my ovaries.. The endo came back but outside my reproductive system so doctors aren't touching it. My CA-125 levels are perfect therefor, my endo is not as advance as it was, therefor another reason not to touch the cysts..
Wishing you the best of luck.
