I think ov. pains vary from person to person in severity and duration and it can change from cycle to cycle. Some women don't have any discomfort. I tend to have ov. pain during and after ov. In my case the cramping feeling is probably caused by HCG shots that trigger ovulation. Best wishes and the Lord's blessings.

I had ovary pains before, during and after ovulation (due to the swelling that occurs in the ovaries and follicles that takes time to "come back down"). It is difficult to pinpoint O based on ovary pains, but having AF-like (ie uterine) cramps afterward is a good sign that you are post-ovulation, since those cramps are usually caused by progesterone. It can happen during or after. During, you may be feeling the egg rupturing from its follicle, which some women describe as a pinching (that's what it felt like for me). After the egg is released, the Corpus Luteum cyst develops on the follicle that released the egg. Its purpose is to supply the Progesterone your boy will need if you conceive. They can be kind of large (when I had my first ultrasound, mine was over an inch long) and can cause a sharp, stabbing kind of pain.

I constantly have ovarian pain during menstruation it gets really severe at day 1, I'm not sure if I ovulate but I have regular cycles
