Will my period eventually come while taking Progesterone if I'm not pregnant?
This is my first month taking Prometrium to treat Luteal Phase Defect. Just before my prescription was about to run out, I took a pregnancy test to make sure I wouldn't need to refill it. I wasn't expecting anything but I *think* I saw a faint line. I took three more tests and the same thing: I think I saw a faint line. I'm not confident, however, that those weren't evap lines or something because they were so faint. Nevertheless, I refilled the prescription and am still taking Prometrium. But I'd like to be more confident. If my period continues not to show up, my thought is that will confirm that I'm pregnant. But I'm worried that Prometrium could keep my period from *ever* showing up even if I'm not pregnant. I'm eight days late now. Anyone have any thoughts? Could Prometrium keep me from ever getting my period, even if I'm not pregnant?

In non pregnant cycles some women get their period while still on progesterone, others need to discontinue the supplement first. If I were you I would get a blood test to either confirm or rule out a pregnancy. If not pregnant discontinue the supplement and AF will start ~ 2 days later. Best wishes and the Lord's blessings.

I was taking Progesterone Cream to lengthen my LP and to regulate my cycle and had to stop using it to induce my period.
In a "normal" woman, Progesterone is supplied by the Corpus Luteum cyst in case a pregnancy occurs as a pregnancy needs Progesterone. If you conceive, the Progesterone stays to keep your body supplied. If no pregnancy occurs, Progesterone stops being produced. The lack of Progesterone in your body is what signals your uterine lining to shed each month. Without stopping Progesterone supplements, your body wouldn't get that signal.
That being said, if you are pregnant and stop the supplement, you will lose the pregnancy. So I would make absolutely certain that you are/ are not pregnant before making the decision.
Good luck!

aren't you working with a fertility specialist? they should tell you what you should be doing. my suggestion would be to have a blood test done. that is the only way you'll know for sure. besides that, if you wait a few more days, you should be able to have a clearer test line. hormones double every couple of days.
