I've had a laparoscopy and happy to tell you how it was for me if it's helpful? For me too it was my first surgery and I had a diagnostic lap and dye. I was terrified but honestly it wasn't as bad as I thought though I won't say it was pleasant! Plus side- you're under so quickly that literally before you know it you're coming round. At first the only pain I has was my throat from the breathing tube you have whilst under! I would recommend taking some juice or throat sweets as they give you water but it just doesn't cut it!
Take a pillow for the car journey home to protect your tummy from the seat belt and allow at least two weeks for recovery if you have treatment (they told me a week but there's no way I was recovered enough!)
For me it proved that tubes were clear although they removed some endo and a cyst on my ovary.
Feel free to ask any questions.... I know how scary it feels! GL x
