Question

PCOS and irregular periods. Can I still conceive?

Hi ladies,
So I just wanted to know if anyone out there is like me, almost 21 and has PCOS and really bad irregular periods. I just wanted to ask if any of you know anyone or if you are yourselves, TTC and has had success. I know I am still young but (we) feel like we are almost ready. Hubby-to-be is 23 and always tells me we will do whatever it takes to get pregnant. I am really really worried I'll NEVER be able to have a baby. I cry about it sometimes. I am even having symptoms right now and thinking, "could I be..." but im 17 dpo and i got a bfn on 16 dpo. I really want to start trying if i'm not already. So, my question is, is there anything I can do to 'Better' my chances of getting pregnant and seeing that BFP? I have clinical depression and have since I was 14. I am on med's for that and I feel like I am just 'missing' something in life... Can someone, anyone, out there help? I feel really alone in this. Sorry to sound 'annoying'. But, I just want to know there's hope

Since you have PCOS you may want to talk to a doctor pretty soon about whether you should take any meds to help you ovulate regularly. There are several good options and one of them will almost certainly work for you. GL! :)

I am still a little confused about ovulation. Dose ovulation help us women to conceive? I know most likely a dumb question... Is ovulation the 'fertile time'...?

Ovulation is the release of an egg. It is required to conceive.

I have PCOS also. It took me 2 and half years 6 of those months using ovulation test to get pregnant with my daughter who is now 8. I have been trying for number 2 for about 6 years now. Really thought this was my month but started today :( I met with my gyno last week and he is having me come in on day 21 of my cycle to have blood work and an ultrasound done, to make sure I am ovulating and to check for cyst. If you want to conceive sooner rather than later, meet with your doctor. Good Luck.

I was diagnosed with PCOS four and half years ago. I was put on Metformin and I also take certain vitamins and drink peppermint tea and green tea. Since doing this I have had four months of regular cycles. Been trying for two years. I have 6 year old daughter who took a year to conceive. Deffinately see your dr. Good luck.
