Question

Sharp pain around the navel downwards

Hi, can someone help me out please?
I am 4 weeks, 2 days pregnant (first pregnancy) and i have been having intermittent cramps (not like AF) and sharp pain that shoots from my navel towards my groin.
It comes and goes. I am not spotting or bleeding.
Is this normal please? or should I be worried?
Thanks.

It could be a bit of constipation or gas - progesterone and hcg slow down the digestive system - or the uterus settling in. Both lead to all kinds of cramps and twinges and weirdness.

If its up by ur navel then I'd assume its intestinal.

Hi there! I am also 4 weeks 2 days today. Hopefully you're feeling better. I wanted to let you know that you're not alone. I've been having these horrible shooting pains in my stomach and sides and it lasts about 10 seconds. Sometimes it's so bad I have to sit down and I can't talk.it happens with sudden movements or when I sneeze. The pain also shoots into my vagina. I agree that it's scary! My hcg levels keep doubling, and I've been having this pain for a week now. I went to my obgyn and they did a transvaginal ultrasound and didn't see anything suspicious. She also couldn't see a sack or anything yet either. I think that every woman handles pregnancy different and it's important to listen to your body and intuition. If you feel something is not right and you want to calm your fears, I would see the doc. I bet it's just everything shifting a bit to make room for your new little one.

Thanks everyone, I really appreciate it. the pain has stopped now, it hardly ever comes again.
@loveaboveall, that was the same thing that happened to me. They couldn't see a sac when they did the ultra sound then and i am guessing it was cuz the baby was still too small to be detected.
Will be going for another ultrasound on saturday though
